Artist Statement

My work often focuses on the fragile and shifting boundary between human consciousness and primal instinct.
In this painting I wanted to leave the viewer with a quiet question rather than a clear answer. Human beings carry ancient instincts that once ensured survival, yet these forces still remain within us.
This painting simply creates a moment to reflect on that invisible boundary.
Nekol

Boundary oil painting is an original artwork that encourages the viewer to reflect on the fragile line between human consciousness and primal instinct. The painting brings attention to the moment when fear, anger, pain, or the instinct to survive lead a person toward the edge where reason becomes silent and nature begins to speak.

Boundary Oil Painting

Boundary oil painting encourages the viewer to reflect on one of the most difficult questions about human nature: where does the human end and where does the beast begin?
Within every person live powerful instincts — fear, anger, the urge to defend, to fight, and to survive. These instincts are a natural part of human existence. Yet sometimes circumstances, pain, or despair bring a person closer to a point where these forces begin to speak louder than reason.
In Boundary oil painting, this moment appears as a quiet tension between human awareness and something deeper and more ancient. The work does not present a dramatic conflict or a clear answer. Instead, it leaves space for reflection.
Is there truly a boundary between human and beast?
Can this line be seen or felt before it is crossed?
Boundary oil painting does not attempt to resolve these questions. The painting simply encourages the viewer to pause and reflect on the invisible boundary that may exist within us.
Rather than offering a conclusion, Boundary oil painting leaves the viewer with a thought about instinct, consciousness, and the complexity of human nature. Perhaps the most difficult struggle does not take place in the outside world, but within ourselves.
Through its dark palette, expressive texture, and compressed circular composition, Boundary oil painting creates a quiet yet intense atmosphere of inner tension.

STORY
This painting began with a simple question: where is the boundary between human and beast?
Human beings carry instincts that once ensured survival — fear, aggression, defense, the will to fight. These forces still exist within us, even when they remain hidden beneath the surface of modern life.
Sometimes life brings a person to the edge where those instincts become visible.
The painting does not judge this moment and does not attempt to explain it. Instead, it leaves the viewer alone with the question: does such a boundary truly exist, or does it move together with us?

Interpretation
Boundary encourages the viewer to reflect on the fragile line between human consciousness and primal instinct. The painting raises a question that has accompanied humanity throughout history: where does the human end and where does the beast begin?
Instincts such as fear, anger, defense, and the will to survive remain a fundamental part of human nature. The work creates space to think about the moment when these instincts begin to speak louder than reason.
Rather than offering a clear interpretation, the painting leaves the question open, allowing each viewer to consider their own understanding of the boundary that may exist within us.

Psycho-Figurative Art
Psycho-Figurative Art is a direction in contemporary figurative painting in which the human figure is used to express inner psychological states, archetypes, and existential experiences.
In this style, the body is often distorted, simplified, or symbolized in order to convey emotion, tension, and deeper processes of the mind. Expressive form, rich paint texture, and dramatic color atmosphere play an important role.
Psycho-Figurative Art lies at the intersection of Expressionism, Symbolism, and Neo-Expressionist figuration, where the figure becomes not a portrait, but an image of the human inner condition.
