Artist Statement

This oil painting is one of my favorite pictures that I created, called “Liberation,” part of my “Dragons” series.
It’s special to me because it carries a message close to my heart.
I believe in equal rights for everyone, and this painting is my way of showing that.
I’m not a feminist in the strict sense, but I strongly stand for fairness and oppose any unfair treatment based on gender.
Sadly, sexism has been around for a long time, and I think it’s time to break free from it.
In this oil artwork, the serpent represents a cruel force that restricts the true potential of the princess locked in a «golden cage». I see the woman knight with a sword as a symbol of those who stand up for the oppressed.
